Two Killed, One Injured in Iowa Crash
According to KCRG, the Iowa State Patrol has confirmed that two people have died and a third was injured in a single-vehicle crash. Troopers reported that a 58-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on Highway 65 when she lost control of the truck and rolled it into a ditch. At the time, there was also a 43-year-old passenger in the front seat, and responders reported her and the driver dead at the scene. They also rushed a second passenger, a 16-year-old boy with serious injuries, to a local hospital.
Cedar Rapids Police Come Upon a Crash, Results in Arrest for One of the Drivers
KWWL reports on a crash that occurred earlier this month and resulted in an arrest for one of the drivers involved. According to the news source, police came upon the crash and eventually had to chase down one of the drivers. Officers were performing standard patrols near Wilson Avenue and Kenrich Drive SW when they saw two vehicles collide.
One of the drivers ran from the scene, but officers were able to catch him a short while later. Police arrested the 21-year-old man and charged him with interference with official acts that caused injury. He was also arrested on a warrant that was outstanding for a probation violation, as well as warrants for willful injury, first-degree robbery, fifth-degree theft and assault while participating in a felony.
Police are still investigating the accident. They say that further charges may be filed against the driver who fled.
One Killed and One Injured in Crash
According to KCRG, one person has died after a UPS semitrailer crashed into a minivan at an intersection earlier this week. Police claim the truck was heading north when it struck the van, which was heading east. Responders pronounced one person in the van dead at the scene and took another to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the semitrailer was not seriously injured. Police are still investigating the crash.
